Workspace

Your account & workspaces

Edit your profile, turn usage analytics on or off, switch between workspaces or create another one, leave a workspace, delete a workspace, and delete your account.

Your account is you: your name, photo and sign-in. A workspace is where a team works. One account can belong to several workspaces. To change how you sign in, see Signing in.

Your profile

Open Settings → Profile and choose Edit profile. Teammates see these details in chat, on issues and in the members list.

  • Photo: choose Upload photo. Use a PNG or JPG of up to 4 MB.
  • Full name and Username: your username is how people @mention you.
  • Email: see Change your email address.
  • Position and Department are optional.

Choose Save when you're done.

Appearance

Open Settings → Preferences to switch between light, dark and system themes, and to pick a sidebar color theme. It applies in both light and dark mode.

Usage analytics

Deckbell counts how the product is used with pseudonymous events, such as an issue being created. They contain no message or issue content, and no name or email address. See the privacy policy for what's included.

To turn this off, open Settings → Preferences at app.deckbell.com and turn off Share usage analytics under Privacy. The setting belongs to your account, so it applies on all your devices.

  • From then on, Deckbell sends no events that identify you.
  • Events already sent stay. To have them erased while keeping your account, email support@deckbell.com.
  • Events that identify a workspace but no person, such as a subscription starting, can still be sent, unless it's your personal workspace.

Change your email address

Your email address is where sign-in codes and password resets go, so changing it needs confirmation.

  1. In Edit profile, choose Change email and enter the new address.
  2. Confirm it's you:
    • If your account has a password, enter it under Your password.
    • If it doesn't, choose Email me a code. The code goes to your current address, so you need access to it. Enter the 6-digit code.
  3. Choose Save.
  4. Open the link we send to the new address to verify it.

Lost access to your current address and have no password? Contact support.

Switch workspaces

Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar, choose Switch workspace, then pick one. Settings → Workspaces lists every workspace you belong to, with your role in each.

Create another workspace

  1. Open the workspace menu at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Choose Switch workspace, then Create workspace.
  3. Enter a name.

Each workspace has its own members, projects and plan.

Rename a workspace

Open Settings → Members, change the name under Team settings and choose Save. Owners and admins can do this.

Leave a workspace

Open Settings → Workspaces and choose Leave next to the workspace. The owner can't leave, so transfer ownership first.

Delete a workspace

Only the owner can delete a workspace, and it can't be undone. Everyone loses access straight away to its projects, issues, chat and files, and pending invitations are cancelled.

Before you start:

If the workspace is on a paid plan, deleting it cancels the plan straight away. If the plan can't be canceled, nothing is deleted and you can try again.

To delete it:

  1. Open Settings → Members and go to Delete team at the bottom.
  2. Choose Delete team.
  3. Type the workspace's name to confirm, then choose Delete team again.

Delete your account

This can't be undone. You're signed out everywhere and removed from every workspace you belong to. Messages, comments and issues you wrote in shared workspaces stay there for your teammates. Paid workspaces you were in stop billing for your seat straight away.

If you own a workspace that others use, Deckbell stops you until you transfer ownership or delete the workspace. Workspaces where you're the only member are deleted with your account, and their paid plans are canceled.

We also ask our analytics provider to delete the usage events recorded against you. Its deletions run in batches, so this can take some time to finish.

To delete it:

  1. Open Settings → Profile and go to Delete account at the bottom.
  2. Choose Delete account.
  3. Enter your password. If your account doesn't have one, choose Email me a code and enter the code we send you.
  4. Choose Delete account again.
