Notion & Confluence
Previews of Notion and Confluence pages in chat and issues, shown only to people who can open them, and docs attached to issues.
Connect Notion or Confluence Cloud and links to their pages in Deckbell show what the page is: its icon, title, the workspace or space it's in and when it was last edited. You can attach pages to issues, next to Figma designs.
Open Integrations → Notion or Integrations → Confluence, choose Configure, then Connect. Every member connects their own account; it's personal and read-only.
- Notion: Notion asks which pages Deckbell may read. Pick the pages (or top-level pages, which include everything under them) you want previews for. To add more later, connect again, or open the page in Notion and add Deckbell from the ••• menu under Connections.
- Confluence: Atlassian asks which site to allow. Deckbell reads pages with your Confluence permissions, so it can preview whatever you can open on that site.
Disconnect removes your connection. Pages already attached to issues stay attached as links.
Who sees what
A page's details are never stored in Deckbell or shared through it. Each time someone looks at a Notion or Confluence link, Deckbell asks Notion or Confluence for it with that person's own connection:
- If their account can open the page, they see its title, workspace or space and last edit.
- If it can't, they see the link with "Your Notion account can't open this page" (or Confluence), and nothing about the page.
- If they haven't connected that tool, they see the link with Connect to turn previews on.
So posting a link in a channel or attaching it to an issue never reveals a private page's title to people who aren't allowed to read it. The link itself is visible, as with any link you share.
Links in chat
Paste a link to a Notion page or database, or to a Confluence page, in a message, and a card shows under the message. A message can show cards for up to three such links.
Docs on issues
To attach a page to an issue, choose Link Sentry issue, design or doc in the issue's right sidebar and paste the page's link. Notion and Confluence links you paste into an issue's description or a comment are attached automatically.
Attached pages are listed with Figma designs under Designs & docs (or Docs when there are no designs). Click one to open it; hover and choose × to remove it.
Confluence links need the page's address with its number in it (for example
…/wiki/spaces/ENG/pages/123456/Runbook); short …/wiki/x/… links and space
overviews aren't previewed.
