Comparison
Deckbell vs ClickUp
ClickUp sets out to be every work tool at once. Deckbell does three things for software teams: an issue tracker, team chat with huddles, and coding agents that open pull requests.
Updated October 2026, using each vendor's public list prices and documentation.
The short version
ClickUp has far more features than Deckbell: docs, whiteboards, goals, time tracking, dashboards, forms, automations, Gantt and timeline views, plus chat, video calls and AI. If you want one tool for marketing, operations and engineering together, ClickUp covers more ground.
Deckbell is narrower by design. It's built for software teams, with issue keys, sprints, GitHub, and agents that turn an issue into a pull request. There's less to configure, and each board and its channel are wired together out of the box. Prices are close: Deckbell Pro is $8 a seat on annual billing, and ClickUp Core is $9 billed yearly.
Who it's for
Switch to Deckbell if…
- Your engineers find ClickUp heavy and keep a separate tracker anyway.
- You use a fraction of ClickUp's features and want less to set up and maintain.
- You want issues, pull requests and chat linked: issue keys in messages, comments as thread replies, pull requests in search.
- You want coding agents with a visible cost per run, rather than a general AI assistant.
- You want EU hosting by default, on every plan.
Stay with ClickUp if…
- Non-engineering teams run their work in ClickUp and need docs, forms, goals or time tracking.
- You plan with Gantt charts, timelines, workload views or dashboards.
- You rely on ClickUp automations or its integrations.
- You need native desktop and mobile apps.

Price per seat
Both charge per user. ClickUp is moving to a new set of plans, and its pricing page currently shows some visitors the new plans and others the earlier ones, so we list the new plans and note the earlier prices. ClickUp includes chat, so there's usually no separate chat bill; Linear + Slack is shown for reference.

How to switch from ClickUp
- Step 1
Create a workspace and connect GitHub
Sign up free, invite your engineering team and connect GitHub so agents can work in your repositories and open pull requests.
- Step 2
Import from ClickUp
Connect ClickUp with a personal API token and pick the Lists to bring over. Tasks come across with subtasks, tags, dependencies and comments. A ClickUp CSV export works too.
- Step 3
Map statuses to columns
Every ClickUp status found is listed with how many tasks have it. Pick the board column each one goes to, or leave old, closed work out of the import.
- Step 4
Decide what stays in ClickUp
If other teams use ClickUp docs, goals or time tracking, they can carry on. Engineering moves its issues and conversations to Deckbell.

FAQ
Deckbell vs ClickUp: questions
Something we didn't cover? Write to support@deckbell.com and a human replies.
Is Deckbell an all-in-one tool like ClickUp?
No. Deckbell covers issue tracking, team chat with huddles, and coding agents. It has no docs, whiteboards, goals, forms or time tracking. That's deliberate: it's built for software teams who want a fast tracker with the conversation next to it.
Does Deckbell have Gantt charts or timelines?
Not today. Work is planned with boards, list views, sprints, estimates, relations and saved views.
How does pricing compare with ClickUp?
On ClickUp's new plans, Core is $9 per user per month billed yearly ($12 monthly) and Business $17 ($25 monthly). Deckbell Pro is $8 billed annually ($10 monthly) and Business $15 ($18 monthly), with chat, huddles and AI credits included. Prices as of October 2026.
Can we import our ClickUp tasks?
Yes. Connect ClickUp with a personal API token, or upload a CSV export. Deckbell brings tasks over with subtasks, tags, dependencies and comments, lets you map each status to a column, and reports anything it skipped.
Does Deckbell have AI like ClickUp Brain?
Deckbell's AI is focused on code: agents that take an issue, work in the GitHub repositories you attach, and open a pull request, with Coder, Reviewer and Security roles. You can also chat with an agent. Every paid seat includes AI credits, or you can bring your own Anthropic key.
