Workspace

Google Drive, OneDrive & Dropbox

Previews for Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint and Dropbox links in chat and issues, and cloud files linked to issues.

Links to Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint and Dropbox files show a preview in Deckbell: the file's name, type, owner, when it was last edited and, where the service provides one, a thumbnail. You can also link files from these services to issues, next to Figma designs.

These are available once they're set up on your Deckbell server. Until then, Integrations → Google Drive, OneDrive & Dropbox shows them as "Not available yet".

Connecting your account

Open Integrations → Google Drive, OneDrive & Dropbox → Configure and choose Connect next to a service. Everyone connects their own account; you don't need permission to manage integrations, and connecting doesn't give anyone else access to your files. Disconnect removes your account from this workspace.

  • Google Drive: Deckbell only sees the files you pick with Deckbell (see below), not the rest of your Drive.
  • OneDrive and SharePoint: works with personal Microsoft accounts and work or school accounts. Microsoft requires read-and-write permission to look up shared links; Deckbell only reads file details and never changes your files.
  • Dropbox: Deckbell reads the details of Dropbox links your account can open.

Who sees what

Previews are personal. Each person sees a file's name, owner and thumbnail only if their own connected account can open it. Someone who can't open the file, or hasn't connected that service, sees just the service and the kind of file the link points to (document, spreadsheet, folder…) with a link to open it. So pasting a link never reveals a file's name to people who don't have access to it.

With Google Drive, previews show for files you've picked with Deckbell. For a Drive link someone else posted, the preview appears once you've picked that file yourself; until then it shows as a Google Drive file with a link.

Paste a Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint or Dropbox link in a message. Deckbell shows a card under the message with the file's details, as described above.

Files on issues

To link a file to an issue, choose Link a file in the issue's right sidebar, then:

  • From Google Drive: opens the Google Drive picker.
  • From OneDrive: search your OneDrive, or pick from your recent files.
  • From Dropbox: opens the Dropbox chooser.
  • Paste a link: paste any Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint or Dropbox link.

If you haven't connected a service yet, its item takes you to the page where you connect it. Links to these services in an issue's description or comments are linked automatically.

Linked files are listed under Files. Click one to open it; hover and choose × to remove it. You need permission to manage issues to link or remove files.

Deckbell stores only the link, never a copy of the file or its details.
