What’s new in Deckbell

New features and improvements to the tracker, chat, huddles and the rest of the workspace, month by month. Each change links to its help page.

October 2026

Huddles, boards and chat working together, the ⌘K command palette, importers for Slack, Linear, Jira and ClickUp, security settings for larger teams, and billing.

  1. Auto saves the strongest model for hard tasks

Agents that run on Deckbell use Auto: they code with Claude Sonnet 5.5 and save Claude Opus 5.5 for tasks that are sized as hard.

    How it works
  2. Choose how an agent runs

When you create or edit an agent, pick Deckbell (Auto chooses the model for each step and the run uses your workspace’s AI credits) or your own Anthropic key with a model of your choice. Both options show an estimated cost per typical task before you decide.

    How it works
  3. Import from Slack, Linear, Jira and ClickUp

A new Settings → Import page brings it all together. Upload a Slack workspace export to recreate your channels with their messages, threads, reactions and files, or connect Linear, Jira or ClickUp directly with an API key or token and pick what to bring over. Asana and ClickUp CSV files are supported too.

    How it works
  4. GitHub in Integrations

Add the Deckbell app to a GitHub organization or your personal account from Integrations → GitHub, and choose all repositories or only selected ones. Integrations is now a catalogue of cards, and connecting your own GitHub account is optional.

    How it works
  5. Agent roles and editing

Agents come with five built-in roles (Coder, Reviewer, Security, Tester and Triage), and Business workspaces can write their own custom roles. You can now edit an existing agent, and the agent cost dashboard breaks spending down by person.

    How it works
  6. Plans and billing in Settings

Settings has a Billing section with Plan & usage, Invoices and Payment method pages. See your usage against your plan’s limits, see the prorated price before you change plans, choose whether a downgrade happens now or at the end of the period, and download invoices as PDF. Paying by PayPal and other local methods works as well as cards.

    How it works
  7. Share any kind of file in chat

Any file type can now be attached to a message, and a very long message is sent as a text file instead of being cut off.

    How it works
  8. Audit log filters

Filter the audit log by several actions and several people at once, with search, checkboxes and avatars. Board changes are recorded too.

    How it works
  9. Huddles in channels and DMs

Start a huddle in any channel or direct message. Huddles start with audio and add camera video and screen sharing, with a tiled video layout, full screen, raise hand and quick emoji reactions. In a DM, a huddle rings the other person, who can join or decline.

    How it works
  10. Boards and chat together

Every board has its own channel. New issues post a card there, the card’s thread and the issue’s comments are the same conversation, and issue keys like WEB-142 in any message link to the issue. Turn any message into an issue, open the board’s channel in a panel beside the board, and start a huddle about a thread or an issue.

    How it works
  11. Command palette, search and shortcuts

Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) to jump anywhere and search issues, messages and pull requests in one place. Keyboard shortcuts cover the most common actions, and a search box at the top of the sidebar opens the palette.

    How it works
  12. Live boards, real filters and issue import

Boards and lists update on their own when teammates change issues. Saved views keep real filters for status, assignee, priority, labels, sprint and text. And a board’s ⋯ menu can import issues from a Jira, Linear, GitHub Issues or Trello CSV export.

    How it works
  13. Security and compliance settings

An audit log and message retention on Business, plus legal hold, data exports, allowed email domains and SAML single sign-on with DNS-verified domains on Enterprise. People can choose Sign in with SSO on the sign-in page.

    How it works
  14. Chat notifications and richer files

Notifications for new messages with live unread badges in the sidebar. Files can be dropped or pasted into the composer, links show previews, PDFs open in a viewer, code blocks are formatted, the Files panel can be searched, and uploads can be up to 50 MB each. Messages that tag you are highlighted.

    How it works
  15. Manage members

Deactivate people who have left your team without losing their messages and issues, and reactivate them later. Owners and admins can change members’ roles, and the owner can transfer ownership of the workspace to someone else.

    How it works
  16. Sign in with an emailed code, and a new sign-up

Sign in by entering your email and the 6-digit code we send you; passwords, Google and passkeys still work. Creating a workspace is now five short steps, and invitations open a join page with your email already filled in.

    How it works
  17. A welcome when someone joins

When a new member joins, each teammate gets a direct message with a “joined” card and a one-click Send welcome message button.

    How it works

September 2026

The foundations: projects and boards, issues with sub-tasks and relations, sprints and saved views, team chat with threads and voice messages, the inbox, the dashboard and the docs.

  1. Favorites and a people picker for DMs

Add channels, direct messages and projects to a Favorites section at the top of the sidebar. Starting a new direct message opens a searchable list of everyone in the workspace.

    How it works
  2. A fuller dashboard

Your dashboard shows key numbers, what’s assigned to you, project progress, a breakdown of work by status and priority, and recent activity.

    How it works
  3. Deckbell on phones

A top bar with a menu button makes the sidebar reachable on narrow screens, so Deckbell works in a phone’s browser.

  4. Profiles, presence and sidebar themes

Add a photo, username, position and department to your profile. See who is online, and hover over a name in chat for a profile preview. Pick a colour theme for the sidebar and drag its sections and items into the order you like.

    How it works
  5. Files and media in chat

Preview images and videos without leaving the conversation, and open the Files panel to see everything shared in a channel. Voice messages play with a waveform and adjustable speed.

    How it works
  6. Team chat

Channels and direct messages, updated in real time, with a #general channel in every workspace. Reply in threads, react with emoji, @mention teammates, upload files, record voice messages, and search messages with in: and from: filters.

    How it works
  7. Rich descriptions and @mentions

Issue descriptions are edited in place with a rich-text editor, including checklists. @mention an issue in a description to link it as related, or @mention a teammate in a comment to notify them by email and in their inbox.

    How it works
  8. Blocked by, blocking and related issues

Link issues to each other from the issue’s sidebar, so everyone can see what is holding work up.

    How it works
  9. Inbox and readable issue links

The inbox shows the comment you were mentioned in, which issue it is on, and a link to open it. Issues have readable links like /projects/WEB-12/issues/fix-login.

    How it works
  10. Agent Dashboard

See every agent across all your projects in one place, with a step-by-step dialog for creating a new one.

    How it works
  11. Documentation

Help pages for every part of Deckbell, at deckbell.com/docs.

    How it works
  12. Saved views, layouts and grouping

Every project has Active, Backlog and All views, and you can save your own. Switch between Board and List layouts, group by status, assignee, priority or label, choose the order, and pick which properties show on each card.

    How it works
  13. Sprints and estimates

Plan work in sprints from a project’s Sprints page, and give issues story-point estimates.

    How it works
  14. Project settings, labels and statuses

Each project has settings for its labels and workflow statuses. Archive projects you no longer need and restore them later.

    How it works
  15. Projects, boards and issues

Create projects with a Kanban board, drag cards between columns, and break issues down into sub-tasks with progress shown on the card.

    How it works
  16. Sign in with email, Google or a passkey

Sign in with an email and password, with Google, or with a passkey, stay signed in with Remember me, and reset a forgotten password by email.
